Tableau’s drag-and-drop dashboarding was groundbreaking in its time, but it’s still built around manual visualization assembly. Even with new AI assistants, the experience often ends with more charts than clarity—users must interpret visuals themselves to find answers. Tellius streamlines a consumer’s workflow by pairing natural language exploration with automated, agent-driven “why” analysis that proactively surfaces drivers, anomalies, and recommendations.
Tableau Pulse and Tableau Agents features are cloud-only, require manual metric setup, and are limited in diagnostic depth. Server customers don’t get access, and advanced root-cause, cohort, or next-best-action analysis which still require separate tools or manual work. Tellius delivers all of this natively.
Since the Salesforce acquisition, many of Tableau’s most advanced capabilities have been tied to the broader Salesforce stack. Predictive analytics, AutoML, and some AI features depend on Salesforce Einstein Discovery (additional licensing) and Salesforce Data Cloud for full functionality. This means extra products, extra costs, and tighter vendor lock-in. Tellius delivers all capabilities in-platform natively, with no dependency on external licensing, maintaining vendor neutrality.
